WIP Wednesday: Shawl & Webstore

Here’s the deal with WIP Wednesday. It kind of holds me accountable to make progress on my projects. It keeps me from slack off more than I do. So, let’s get on with it, shall we?

Tidal Wave Shawl: I have posted about this a few times. No pictures this time because I’m sure everyone is sick of seeing it. I am currently on row 66 of 103 since starting over. So, a little over half way done.

Shark Pillow: I’ve added a few more rows. It’s not something I am going to be working on horribly fast because it’s blanket yarn. I know some people love this stuff. I don’t know how I feel about it. I’m not a fan of working with it, but it might be that I haven’t adjusted to it yet. It’s a different experience.

I have also gotten a start on my holiday present list starting with a virus shawl. I originally thought that it might be a virus shawl because it looked like some sort of virus did under a microscope. Yes, that is where my brain went first. I always say you can tell a lot about someone by what they think of when you say “mace”. Is it: A.) A spice B.) Pepper spray or C.) A medieval weapon. ¬†Anyway, that’s not why it’s called a virus shawl. The name ‘virus’ came from the fact that it went viral a few years back when the pattern was originally printed. The actual name, Dreieckstuch, makes more sense to me. It’s German for “triangle cloth”.

It’s taken me a bit to get where I am with it. I had to keep taking it out and starting over. It’s so easy to mess up and you really have to pay attention to what you are doing. I am making it out of Debbie Bliss DK Denim Cotton in mint.

Again, I am not going to mention who it is for in case that person checks out my blog.

The other thing that I am working on is my web store. I want to move things off Etsy and host it all here on the site here. It makes more sense to me. The store should be attached to my blog, not a 3rd party site. When I started my Etsy store I had no idea what I wanted to do with it. Having had this blog up for several months and growing more serious about posting and promoting, I have developed an idea of where I want to go with things. Putting together a web store makes sense to me as a ‘start over’. Anyway, it should be up and running in the next few days. If you want a sneak peek you can check things out here. It’s just a long tedious process of getting things moved over. Always open for suggestions.

That’s what I am up to this week. What about you?
